NameMatch (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates name-match.com. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

Account data. When you sign in (via Apple, Google, or email magic link), we receive your email address and authentication provider identifier.

Preferences. Gender filter, heritage preferences, popularity preference, and a taste profile derived from your swipe history.

Usage data. Swipe records (name, reaction, timestamp), session codes, matches, shortlist entries, notes, and rankings.

Analytics. We use PostHog to collect page views, product events, and session recordings with all inputs masked. Only authenticated users are tracked.

Data stored only on your device. Your surname, avoid list, existing children's names, and anonymous identifier are stored in your browser's local storage and are never sent to our servers.

We use the following third-party services that process your data:

• Supabase — database hosting and authentication
• PostHog — product analytics (identified users only, session recordings with masked inputs)
• Vercel — hosting and content delivery

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

We use only essential cookies for authentication (managed by Supabase). We do not use marketing, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies.

NameMatch is designed for adults choosing baby names. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Baby names you interact with are not associated with actual children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We retain your data while your account is active. You can export all your data (JSON format) or delete your account at any time from Settings. When you delete your account, all your personal data is removed. Shared data (matches, shortlist) is anonymized to preserve your partner's experience.

You have the right to:

• Access and export your personal data
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated data
• Object to processing of your data

These rights apply regardless of your location, including under the GDPR (EU) and CCPA (California). To exercise any right, contact us at the address below or use the in-app Settings.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
